This month

May is a month of Celebration. Within it we have the Ascension, reminding us of Christ’s Kingly reign and his commission to the Church to live, show and share this making known the power of Jesus forgiving and transforming love.

On Sunday the 6th we invite Parents and Godparents who have taken on this responsibility for their children to join in giving thanks for Baptism and to renew their promises.

On the 13th the celebrate Adele Owen being installed as an honorary Canon of Gloucester Cathedral, a recognition of her work with refugees and asylum seeker through GARAS,

showing and sharing the transforming power of Christ’s love.

20th is Pentecost Sunday (Whitsun in old money). In Partnership with the PTA there will be activities for all, including crafts, games, music, food and drink, in the Moat from 5.30pm.

The Whittington Purse Open Air worship will begin at 7.00pm where Bishop Robert will be the speaker. At 7.30pm the evening closes with the Bread and Cheese Distribution. These Festivals are 400 and 800 years old respectively and are unique to St Briavels. They are also practical example of Christ’s transforming love.

The month ends with the celebration of Trinity Sunday, God’s self-revelation of his nature.

All are most welcome to join us for worship, which is welcoming, relaxed and open to all.  Join us to find what God’s love could mean for you.

Both Churches are open from 9.00am until 4.00pm for those who wish to look around or find a space for quiet and reflection.
